Faster than a speeding bullet, the Man of Steel rocketed from comic books into newspaper, onto television and even onto the silver screen, his famous red-and-blue costume is unmistakable, and the s-shield emblazoned across his chest is iconic, but many of the key figures in the Superman mythology were first introduced on the Adventures of Superman radio series as he kept the citizens of Metropolis out of harms way.
